✅ Before You Start
Make sure you’ve:
- Set up your Asset Types Library
- Created any necessary Custom Fields (like serial numbers or expiry dates)
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Find your Equipment
- Find your RFID Handheld Scanner
- Turn on the RFID Handheld Reader (Scanner Gun).
- Check you are connected to wifi.
2. Open the App and Tap "Manage Tags"
- To register a tag launch the G2G app.
- From the Main Menu of the G2G app, select Manage Tags from the menu options.
- The Manage Tags menu will be displayed at the top of the screen and the Scan Tags screen will appear.
2. Scan the RFID Tag
- Hold the trigger down and to scan the tag.
- The app will list tags in range of proximity to you.
- The tag at the top is usually the closest.
- Tags thats are registered will display the name of the registered asset displayed.
- Tags that are unregistered will display the raw RFID identification number.
3. Tap on the Tag Number
- Tap the top tag in the list to begin editing, this will display the Type and the Name as empty fields.
- Now you are able to start finding the correct Asset Type to register your Asset.

4. Search for the Asset Type
- Tap the empty Type field and search for the correct Asset Type Category from your Types Library.
- If you can’t find it, double-check your Types Library is correctly set up.
5. Select the Correct Type & Create Asset
- Once you have selected the correct Asset Type Category and Asset Type within that category tap Select.
- After selecting the type, click Create Asset to complete registration.
- The system will give you a confirmation message of Saved.

- In this example, First Aid is the Asset Type Category, and AED is the Asset Type.
6. Asset Types with custom Fields
- If an Asset Type has custom fields linked to it, these will appear during the asset registration process for you to complete.
- Mandatory custom fields are highlighted in red and marked with an asterisk (*).

- In this example, the custom field was completed after the asset was registered. To do this, we just click on the Serial # field. It was possible to do this after the asset was registered as the field is not mandatory.
7. Create Additional Tags (optional)
- If the item is large and you want to additional Tags then click Add Tags.
- Scan a new Tag, this will bring up the Tag ID in green.
- Then select Add 1 Tag, once selected this will display all the information relating to the asset:
- Type
- Name
- Tag ID Associate (1)
- Tag ID Associate (2)
- If you need to add additional Tag follow the same process.
- Once all the tags for the asset have been added click Save Changes.
- The system will give you a confirmation message that the information has been Saved.
8. Confirm Changes
- Click Back to return to your lists of Assets
- The pull the trigger of the gun to re-scan your Assets.
- All RFID Tags registered and linked to an assets will be displayed as their Asset Name in the System.
Pro Tips
- Always scan and assign from Manage Tags mode.
- Make sure the correct Type is selected before tapping “Create”.
- If you see a raw tag ID again later, it means that tag wasn’t registered properly.
