Multiple Manifests
The G2G Console now allows users to assign multiple Manifests either to a Location OR an Asset.
Why is this useful?
If an Asset has multiple Manifests, the user can decide what's important to capture for that specific scan.
For example,
A van may have a specific set of gear, equipment and specific items that gets get used for training. You could make a Manifest of the training equipment and when packing or unpacking at the training session you could confirm that everything is in order and is where it belongs.
If that same vehicle is used in real life situations for emergency response, it may require different equipment, whether that be more or less equipment. This allows the user to decide in an instant what Manifest they are trying to fulfil and confirm they are ready to leave.
How to apply Multiple Manifest to an Asset or Location
Within the G2G Console, navigate to the "Location" or "Asset" you plan to add to. Click on it to expand the details then navigate to Settings. At the bottom of the settings page you can find the 'Manifests' list, Click 'Edit' and from here you can Add, Edit and Remove any amount of Manifests.
How to Decide Which Manifest to Use When Scanning?
When starting an 'Inventory Check' the user scanning a Tag that has multiple Manifests attached to it will see the list of different Manifests and is required to select a Manifest to use before continuing the check. Simply tap on the Manifest you need to scan at the time.
Please Note: Over-Scanning and Additional Equipment
When performing an Inventory Check on an Asset that carries gear for multiple Manifests, be mindful of "over-scanning."
Because an Inventory Check compares what you scan strictly against the Manifest you selected, scanning items that belong to a different Manifest will flag them as Additional Equipment (Blue).
For example: If your van holds both Training and Emergency Response gear, but you select the 'Training Equipment' Manifest, scanning the 'Emergency Response' gear will trigger warnings because those items aren't required for this Manifest.
How to manage this:
- Use App Settings: If the extra gear lives permanently on the Asset and you don't want it flagged as an error during targeted checks, go to your Handheld App Settings and toggle on "Ignore Additional Equipment when Checking Inventories." This tells the system to only focus on finding the required items and to ignore anything else it happens to see.
