Dispatch to a Location or an Asset

Sending Assets from one point to another whether that be a location or another asset

Dispatch Assets

Move Assets between Locations or other Assets and keep their history up to date.

What is Dispatch?

Dispatch allows you to record when an Asset is sent to a different Location or Asset using the G2G Console and mobile apps.

Dispatch is commonly used for:

  • Moving equipment between internal Locations (vehicles, toolboxes, storage areas)
  • Sending Assets for servicing or repair
  • Tracking temporary or permanent Asset movements

Each dispatch updates the Asset's current Location and creates a clear record of where it was sent and why.

How to Dispatch an Asset

Using the G2G App, select Dispatch Assets from the main menu.

This opens the Dispatch To screen, where you choose what the Asset is being dispatched to.

Locations

Locations represent fixed places that do not move, such as:

  • Business sites
  • Storage sheds
  • Service bays or workshops

Assets

Assets are movable items that can contain other Assets, such as:

  • Vehicles
  • Toolboxes
  • Equipment cases

Once you have selected the destination, scan the Asset or Assets you want to dispatch by pulling the trigger on the RFID scanner or scanning the relevant tag.

Adding Notes and Saving

Before saving the Dispatch Snapshot, you can add notes.

Notes are useful for recording:

  • The reason for the dispatch
  • Maintenance or repair details
  • Department or operational changes

When saved, the Dispatch Snapshot updates the Asset's Location and stores the notes for future reference.

Things to Know

  • Multiple Assets can be dispatched in a single action
  • Dispatch works the same way across RFID, QR, NFC, and Bluetooth tags
  • Dispatch history can be reviewed later in the Console
