Searching for an Asset
Find assets quickly and manage their details.
Why Search for an Asset?
The search function in the G2G Handheld app and PWA helps you locate and update assets efficiently. You might search for an asset to:
- View asset details: See all information, including Custom Fields.
- Change the asset type: Update the type if needed. (The new type must already exist in the console.)
- Edit information: Correct mistakes in the asset name or Custom Fields.
- Check tag readability or range: Use the scanner's Scan Power function to locate the tag by pulling the trigger.
- Add more tags to an asset: Attach multiple tags for large assets to improve scan reliability. Tap Add Tags, scan the new tags, and select which ones to attach.
Searching for a Location
Locate and update your business locations.
Why Search for a Location?
The Search Locations function works similarly to searching for assets, but is focused on fixed locations rather than individual items. Locations usually hold less detailed information than assets.
You can use this function to:
- View your locations: Quickly find any location in the system. (The contents of the location are not shown in the app.)
- Edit the location name: Update it if required.
- Add or check tags: Attach tags to a location or locate existing tags for easier identification.
Things to Know
- Assets and locations can have multiple tags for better tracking.
- Searching allows quick edits without navigating away from the asset or location.
- Tag placement can be checked in real-time using the scanner functions.
