What type of Tag should I use?

Guide to selecting the right Tag to use when tagging your assets.

G2G On-Metal tags

RFID tags use a thin metal antenna that is easily interrupted by metal. To successfully tag equipment where the best or only available surfaces are metal you’ll need to use insulated RFID tags.

Ideal for metallic equipment, these tags provide excellent readability and are easy to see.

G2G Non-Metal tags

To tag equipment that suitable surfaces available that are made of plastic, wood, fibreglass or other non-metal materials, you can use non insulated tags like these:

Small Non-metal

Use case
Ideal for small surface areas.

Fits most equipment
Con’s
Shorter read range than large tags

Large Non-metal

Use case
Ideal for equipment with larger surface areas to affix tags, these tags provide excellent readability and are easy to see.

10m - 20m
Pro’s
Long read range. Easy to see on equipment.
Con’s
Doesn’t fit all equipment. Doesn’t adhere well to some surfaces, like canvas, but can be overlaid with tape to hold in place.
